As I write this post, the song “Heart of Worship” is playing in the background.
I’m coming back to the heart of worship,
And it’s all about You;
It’s all about You, Jesus…
Words that are as challenging as they are true.
So often–all too often, I am afraid–Christianity takes on more of the “ianity” than the “Christ.” Hundreds of people have argued this in a multitude of books, both secular and Christian, pointing to the faulty thinking of living espoused by many.
As sad as this situation is, there is only one solution. And not a “second-rate” solution by any means.
Yep. That’s it.
In his book Jesus Over Everything, Clayton Jennings seeks to make this clear. With stories of people who have placed Jesus over everything else in their lives to stirring calls to action, Jennings offers an inspiring vision of what Jesus truly desires in His people: worship of Him and Him alone and Him completely.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Blogging for Books in exchange for my honest review.
